The team of Lahore Qalandar has become the champion of the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League after defeating Multan Sultan by one run.


Lahore Qalandars, who struggled to win in PSL for six years, has now become the first team to reach the final of PSL for the second time in a row.


In Saturday's final, Lahore Qalandars came to defend their title against Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium, when their captain Shaheen Afridi won the toss and decided to bat first. was given a target of 201 runs to win.


Multan Sultan could score 199 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs and lost the final by just one run.


Earlier, Islamabad United has also become PSL champions twice. While Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, and Peshawar Zalmi were winners once each.


Shaheen Afridi, the captain of Lahore Qalandars, showed form as an all-rounder in the final of the eighth edition. Due to this Pakistani social media has been filled with his praises. Shaheen Shah Afridi scored 44 runs off just 15 balls while playing an excellent inning as the captain. Catching and ground fielding of Lahore Qalandars was also fast. Shaheen Shah Afridi took the important wickets of Pollard, Tim David, Anwar Ali Osama Mir, and Riley Russo in the second spell.


This is the second time that the teams of Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans were competing in the final and Lahore Qalandars ensured that the results of the match also remained the same. Last year too, Lahore Qalandars defeated Multan Sultans to become champions.


PSL 2023 started with Qalandars defeating Sultans by one run and ended the tournament with the same result.

Ehsanullah is the first bowler to win the Man of the Tournament award.
