Pakistani fashion model and actress Sunita Marshall says that she wants to play many roles but she also wants to continue doing mother-in-law dramas.

In an interview for BBC, Sunita Marshall said that 'Just waiting for the way the drama 'Panjra' and 'Sar-e-Raah' got, hopefully, the same kind of work will continue to get. I won't say that I don't want to do mother-in-law dramas. I have to do these too because they are also a part of your life.

Actress Sunita Marshall is playing the role of an air hostess and a single mother in the drama serial 'Panjra' aired on ARY Digital while she was recently seen in ARY's own short series 'Sar Si Rah' where she Appeared in the role of a 'doctor daughter-in-law'.

Sunita's work in both of these roles is highly appreciated.

It should be noted that the drama serial 'Panjara' is the last drama written by Asma Nabil, in which she talks about the strictness of parents in raising children and the effects of comparison between children, divorced, working, and single-parenting women. It has tried to cover important topics like the attitudes of women, marriage to a younger man, and two women helping each other in difficult times.

Asma Nabeel died on July 1, 2021, due to breast cancer.

The change in Sunita from the script of 'Panjara'

Sunita Marshall plays the role of Vijeha, an independent woman in the drama serial 'Panjra'. They have two children who understand their father's abuse and support their mother.

Talking to the BBC about her role, Sunita said, "I don't know how long I've been waiting for an offer like this." As soon as I read it, I thought I had to do it.

On one side of the cage is Wajiha's family and on the other side is Khadija's family. The role of Khadija is played by popular singer and actress Hadiqa Kayani and the role of Khadija's husband Javed is played by actor Umair Rana. In this drama, Khadija's family gets into trouble due to Javed's unreasonable restrictions and comparisons between the children.

However, Wajiha's children seem settled and sensible despite their father's absence.

Sunita says that every home has a different story, so I would not say that if there is an independent woman, her children will come out strong and wise. It is not necessary.

He said, "I think that nowadays parents should have a friendly relationship with their children so that the child does not hide anything from you." Respect is in order but they should talk to you about everything. Too much lenience can't be taken, that if children are given an open exemption at all, it is very important to have a balance.'

Sunita said that Panjara's script changed her as a mother too and she hopes that many parents like her can learn from this story.

You do some things unknowingly that you don't realize you are doing wrong. I also have two children. The daughter is very smart in her studies. My son is more interested in sports than normal boys, so I used to compare, but I realized after reading the script that I changed my habit.

I am one year older than my husband.

Another topic discussed in Panjara is the marriage of a mother of two to a younger man. Sunita confidently said that this drama will do justice to this subject as well.

Actually, elders say that men mature a little late and women mature early. But it is good that a man's age is a little older, but this is not a formula. The success or failure of a relationship is related to age. I am one year older than my husband. It doesn't matter to me and neither does my husband.'

Pakistan's popular singer Hadiqa Kayani entered the field of acting a few years ago, after which she appeared in the drama serials 'Raqeeb Se' and 'Dubara'.

Panjara is his third drama serial in which his work is once again receiving immense appreciation from the audience. Sunita Marshall said that she did not expect Hadiqa to be so humble, friendly, and sophisticated.

I really enjoyed meeting him and working with him. No scratch. No one can say that such a big star Hadiqa Kayani is on the set. Just a normal regular, just lost in her work and in her role and a very hard-working lady.'

"If a woman is barren, they will tell her, but if there is a problem with her husband, they keep it hidden."

Sunita Marshall recently played the role of a doctor's daughter-in-law Muzna in a series 'Sar-e-Raah' produced by an American NGO. Each story of this six-episode series was based on different and sensitive topics. Talking about her role, Sunita said that three or four aspects were discussed in this one episode, including girls continuing to practice after medical education, and the need to discuss male infertility and adoption. are

Talking about her character, she says that 'Muzna's husband has a low sperm count due to which he cannot become a father, and in our society, you cannot tell this openly. If a woman becomes barren, you will tell, but if there is a problem with the husband, they keep it hidden, which is a very difficult task. All the pressure then comes on the woman that people tell her things. In this, men should also take a stand for what is trueTell them and don't put all the burden on the woman's head.

Emphasizing the importance of adopting a child, he said that if you are not having a child, we have many orphanages where many children need you, so why not! I will ask everyone to think about this.

Sunita appeared in her two recent dramas Panjara and Sara Raah alongside co-stars Hadiqa Kayani and Saba Qamar. This sister chara seen on screen is like a breath of fresh air which is felt by many fans.

Usually one gets to see such stories in which a woman is seen as the enemy of a woman, but Sunita completely rejected my point that this change is new.

Different topics are made a little less, but they are made, not that they are not made. Let's say in the majority that the mothers-in-law become a little more, but our people also want to see the same.

Comparing the views of Panjara and Sar-e-Rah on YouTube with other normal dramas, he said, 'Take a drama in which there is a lot of repetition, there are many episodes, it has five million views and it is very normal. 11 million go up. So it comes down to it that our people have to see the same. This is what the channel people say in which we will get more views, we will do the same. It is obvious that they also want to see their profit. So there is nothing wrong with it.

"The children never said why are you not a Muslim"

Sunita Marshall married her co-actor and model Hasan Ahmed in 2009. Due to her and her husband Hasan Ahmed's different religious beliefs, they got married in both Islamic and Catholic ways. They have two children who follow Islam like their father and their family.

Sunita has spoken extensively about this on many forums. She says that she had already decided before marriage that her children would follow Islam.

"I knew that this was a matter that would be very difficult to solve later, so it was better to solve it first." I had decided from day one that the children would be Muslims. Hasan and his mother help a lot in this matter. As their Qur'an teacher comes, teaching dhikr and supplications is all their job. She watches this and I watch other subjects.'

He said that after growing up, his children began to understand that their mother belonged to a different religion.

"Now they tell me, oh mama, you're a Christian, Christmas, and Easter are coming." He never said to me, "Mama, why are you not a Muslim?" Why are we Muslims? I think they understood it themselves. Such a question has never come but they know.

"I felt Hassan was right in a way."

Sunita recently spoke about her husband Hasan Ahmed in an interview on a YouTube channel about her work and personal life, after which rumors of their separation started doing the rounds.

But within a few days, both the husband and wife posted a picture together on social media and told their followers that everything is fine between them.

Talking about the same, Sunita told the BBC 'Actually what happened was that the interviewer asked questions and she did them, and I kept talking, and then I talked about everything. Some personal things should not have been said, then they might feel bad for Hasan and he also became emotional, he immediately made a video and uploaded it.

He said that some things are personal and should remain personal. Which I probably didn't understand at the time. I understood later and realized that Hasan was right in a way.

He said that we got well at that time, we sat at home and solved the problem but people got very emotional and a lot of things started coming out. Then we immediately put a picture that everything is correct. People were very happy and I got a great response. So that was a lesson that I learned and Hasan also learned and we take it well.
