"You should be at the front desk." In the morning, the mood will be good, why did you come to the office so tired? These girls first enjoy rap and then run the 'Me Too' campaign. Hey, I was just kidding, you drive a very good car.

Often women have to face such insults in their daily life. In English it is called 'misogyny' and in Urdu, it is called 'hating women'.

Many women who spoke to the BBC in this regard also admitted that they did not understand at first that they were being made fun of or ridiculed.

Recently, when a video interview of Nabil Gabol, a politician associated with the Pakistan People's Party, started circulating on social media, an example given by Nabil Gabol in this interview made many people angry.

This interview was actually broadcast in January this year. The words spoken in this video cannot be repeated here, but while criticizing Nibel Gabol's statement, one question that surely comes to mind is whether the derision of women has become such a deep part of our common parlance that it is considered normal. Or no one wants to mention such things?

When the office was ready, the boss said, "You have come to get a promotion from me."

Mahim Ali is a resident of Islamabad and has been working as a communication expert for the past fifteen years. He is also a part of the campaign to popularize education in the backward districts of Pakistan.

Talking about this topic, Maham told BBC that at one time she was working in the public sector and one day she went to the office a little dressed up.

"As soon as I entered the office, my boss told me that you have come to get a promotion from me or do you have some other work?"

Maham said that 'As a woman, you are told from childhood that you have to speak with distinction but what about the distinction and respect that I deserve?'

'Leaved Family Whatsapp Group' Due To Nasty Talks

A woman from Pakistani media said that "As soon as I was made the head of the department, all my male colleagues protested that we will not work under a girl."

A housewife from Rawalpindi said, "When people abuse or make fun of women, it is a reflection of their upbringing and society." When my child misbehaves with someone, I will scold him there, but if the environment at home is like this, it will be very difficult to stop such nasty things.'

A college student said she left her family's WhatsApp group.

When the women's march started, the misogyny was at an end. An uncle wrote in our family WhatsApp group that first women enjoy rap and then run a 'me too' campaign. I immediately removed myself from the group.

When men were asked about this, most spoke of respect for women, citing religion.

A young man said, "Such incidents only increase when the religion is distanced because Islam teaches respect for women."

Women's clothes are also considered responsible for floods and earthquakes.

Social worker and actor Adeel Afzal described this double standard of society as 'Kuch to kya hoga.'

He said that we hear this phrase mostly when women talk about the abuse they have been subjected to. It has become a common practice in our society that whenever women complain of injustice or violence, even rape, the victim is blamed instead of being found guilty.

"Instead of holding the neck of the oppressor, we start asking questions from the oppressed why don't you speak first?" Why did you go out alone? How were you dressed? This attitude is not adopted by a common man or an ignorant person but it is a part of our society.

Continuing his speech, Adeel said that such phrases are also heard by our intellectuals, politicians, bureaucrats, and the educated class. We also consider women's clothing responsible for floods and earthquakes in this country.

He said that the biggest and main reason for these attitudes is that we are not ready to recognize women as human beings or individuals and give them their place. The need is to punish the guilty. If someone complains about being wrong, listen to him. We need to upgrade our education system.

While Maham Ali concluded his speech, he said that the biggest protest of our society was seen during the organization of the Aurat March. The problem people have is how women can speak for their rights, so make fun of them and remind them of their place.'
