Dan Madcroft was a copywriter at a small marketing company. His work used to include writing press releases, creating social media posts, and creating written content for the company, but then last year his company started using artificial intelligence.

Dean explains that at the time, the idea was that artificial intelligence would help copywriters do their work faster, but he wasn't too impressed with the work of artificial intelligence.

The content that was generated with the help of artificial intelligence was reviewed by staff to ensure that the content had not been used elsewhere.

"There was nothing unique about AI-powered content," Dean says, but what was unique about AI was the speed at which it worked.

What a copywriter used to do in 60 to 90 minutes, with the help of artificial intelligence, the same task can be done in 10 minutes or less.

Four months after the AI was introduced, four people, including Dean, were fired.

Dan can't say for sure, but he believes artificial intelligence has replaced him.

"At first I used to laugh at the idea that artificial intelligence could replace writers or that it could affect my job, but then it happened," he explains.

The latest wave of artificial intelligence started when OpenAI released ChatGPT last year.

This Microsoft program can answer all kinds of questions and provide you with articles, speeches, and even cooking recipes in minutes.

After that, other big companies also introduced their own programs. Google launched Bard in March.

Currently, these programs are not at their best, but the way they can extract anything from the sea of information on the Internet is beyond the reach of a team of humans.

Many people are wondering what jobs are now at risk due to this feature of artificial intelligence.

A Goldman Sachs report earlier this year said artificial intelligence could potentially eliminate 300 million jobs.

According to this report, 46% of administrative jobs and 44% of legal jobs can be automated, but only 6% of construction jobs can be automated.

The report also said that the introduction of artificial intelligence will increase productivity and create new jobs due to growth.

Evidence of this is also emerging.

This month, the IKEA company said that by 2021 it had trained 8,500 employees who previously worked in call centers as design consultants, as 47 percent of phone calls are now handled by the artificial intelligence program 'cat'.

Although Ikea says that no employees will be laid off in their company, many people are worried.

According to a Boston Consulting Group survey of 12,000 people, nearly a third were worried that artificial intelligence would take their place. The majority of them are low-level workers.

"It's also the fear of the unknown," says the group's Jessica Apotheker. When you look at managers, 80 percent of them use artificial intelligence at least once a week, but among lower-level workers, that figure drops to 20 percent, so it's not even familiar with the technology. There is a cause for concern.'

But perhaps this worry is not without cause. Last year, Alejandro spent three months dubbing for a popular YouTube channel. It was a good job in which they translated content from an English YouTube channel into Spanish.

At the end of the year, he went on vacation confident that there would be more work when he returned.

I used to survive on this income. I have two daughters so I needed money.

His vacation was not over when one day the YouTube channel posted a new video in Spanish that he had not worked on.

"When I opened that video, it was not my voice but the voice of an artificial intelligence system. It was very bad and I thought what is this, has someone else been hired to work with me or is this going to replace me?'

After calling the studio, they learned that their client had decided to try artificial intelligence because it was cheaper and faster, but the experiment was unsuccessful. Viewers of the channel complained that the sound quality was not good.

Alejandro's worries did not go away. He says that if the technology improves, then where will artists like him go who work based on their voice.

"What will I do if it starts happening everywhere?" Should I start farming? I do not know. What job do you know that will not be replaced by artificial intelligence in the future? This is a very complicated matter.

Artificial intelligence may not be your complete replacement, but it will definitely help you.

After freelancing for a few months, Dan took a new direction. He now provides mental health counseling to employees at one company and is assisted by artificial intelligence.

He says that"I think the future of artificial intelligence should be to give humans faster access to content, not replace them completely."
