Director Daniyal Afzal told the BBC in an exclusive interview that next year he is going to release a season based on the life of Fatima Jinnah for the Pakistani public, in which "the aspects of her life that she Few will know before.'
He says that "For me, Fatima Jinnah is more than the sister of Quaid-e-Azam, she is a great woman leader of Central Asia and I want to show people this side of her life."
What will be seen in Fatima Jinnah's season?
This chapter of history has been divided into three parts by director Daniyal in his season. The first part of which shows the events before the partition of India. While the second part is after the partition of India. And the third part covers Fatima Jinnah's old age and time spent in Pakistan.
He says that we have always seen Fatima Jinnah in the shadow of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Everyone knows her personality only that she was seen quietly with her brother. On the other hand, most people in India know her as the woman who convinced Muhammad Ali Jinnah to partition India.
He further explains this season that 'in this series, we are trying to show people the real personality of Fatima Jinnah and her strong character.'
Daniyal said that it is not that we want to convey to people only their specific aspects. Whatever we are making about them is based on history and facts. Whether it is their positive or negative aspect.
Mentioning some incidents of Fatima Jinnah's life, he said that 'when Muhammad Ali Jinnah won the only seat as a Muslim from Mumbai, there was a lot of uneasiness because of this. On this occasion, Fatima Jinnah supported her brother and gave him courage.
Talking about the different aspects of Fatima Jinnah's life shown in this season, he says, “It also shows the story of a Kashmiri boy who was arrested because he wrote against the then government. And Fatima Jinnah was able to save this boy from the oppression and violence of the government.
Daniyal says that 'this season has also shown that when Muhammad Ali Jinnah along with his sister left everything and went to England, Allama Muhammad Iqbal sent him a message to come back saying that you are needed here, even now. Fatima Jinnah was the one who persuaded her brother to bring him back.
According to director Daniyal Afzal, the season based on Fatima Jinnah's life has tried to show a lot about her private life.
As if she was not a simple woman. She was a 'Bombay girl'. She stayed in a hostel in her younger years. Also, when she moved to Muhammad Ali Jinnah's house, how was her relationship with Ratibai there? There are so many aspects of his personality that people will get to see.
Director Daniyal Afzal while talking about it says that this season consists of three parts in which his role will be played by different actresses.
What are you building this season?
Director Daniyal said in response to this question, "When I was studying in America, everyone used to talk about great female leaders." When I, as a Pakistani, was asked if there was a great woman leader in Central Asia, the name Fatima Jinnah always came to my mind. But people know Fatima Jinnah only as Jinnah's sister.
"At that time I thought that I will show the world Fatima Jinnah as a female leader and today I am fulfilling this dream of mine."
When I read the script, I felt that every aspect of his life should come before the public.
In the last part of the season based on the life of Fatima Jinnah, actress Samia Mumtaz is playing a role based on the life of Fatima Jinnah in Pakistan.
About this, Samia Mumtaz said in an interview with BBC, "In our dramas, there is nothing except love, love, marriage, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, and divorce. Today's dramatists must realize that this is a small part of life. As a society, we have so many other problems that no one talks about. Talking about the season based on Fatima Jinnah's life, she says, 'When director Daniyal read the script, I felt that every aspect related to such a great personality should come in front of people. That's why I immediately filled a supporter of this work.
He said that a lot of research has been done on this story. All the things that exist in history and what people said about Fatima Jinnah have been included.

Of course, one thing was a little different from ordinary women in that she used to wear ghararara in clothes. Even she used to wear the same dress in processions. Wearing this dress, I used to walk on the set before the shoot to get used to it.

He says that 'as far as the politics of today are compared with the politics of the past, how many people know that when Muhammad Ali Jinnah was leaving his home in Malabar in 1947, he went to Nehru and said, It was my wish that this house should be protected because I have built this house with great effort. And Nehru fought till the end for this house because the government wanted to auction this house.
He further says that 'Not only this, but Gandhi had said that the money of Pakistan stuck here should be returned.' Similarly, Muhammad Ali Jinnah also had a relationship of respect with all of them.
He says, "In the past, this kind of politics was done." But unfortunately, nowadays we don't get to see this kind of respect and elegance.
